Presenting the Zurich Invitational

Presenting the Zurich Invitational

Information

ESB, together with GameTurnier, eStudios and, g4g.ch are proud to present the Zurich Invitational! We truly believe that with the right tools in place and with the right investment, Battlefield Esports can have a significant place in the competitive gaming market. Together with our partners, we believe this event is the first step into making our vision a reality.

What is the Zurich Invitational?

The Zurich Invitational is our first event of the 2019/2020 season, a 4 team, double-elimination, 5v5 Domination, invite-only Battlefield 1 LAN event on PlayStation 4.

The winning team will be taking home 1000 € and the Zurich Invitational Trophy, the second-placed team will receive 5 X-Tubs from X-Gamer (with everyone receiving some small prizes and goodies regardless).

There will also be a Scuff Infinity 4PS Pro Controller for the tournament’s MVP (Most Valuable Player).

While we did want to host this event on Battlefield V, the Private Games feature still hasn’t been released. This means that the event will take place on Battlefield 1 for now, with Battlefield V a possibility depending on when Private Games release, and whether we have news in the next few weeks or not.

When and where does it take place?

The event will take place from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm (CEST) on Saturday, October 12th, 2019 at eStudios in Zurich, Switzerland.

Will there be a live-stream?

No, there won’t be a live-stream, there will be two!

The magnificent eSLC duo will be covering the event in German directly from Zurich on the GameTurnier Twitch (twitch.tv/gameturniertv), while the legendary BrettFX and a surprise guest will be covering the event in English on the ESB Twitch (twitch.tv/esbinternationaltv).

Make sure to tune into this epic event!

How can teams participate?

In order to participate, teams will have to read and understand the “Eligibility Check-List” detailed below and make sure their team meets the event requirements. Once they understand the requirements, teams will be able to sign-up to participate in the event by providing all the requested information via the form in the “Sign-up” tab of this article.

Teams that have regularly competed in our events in the past will be prioritized during the invite process.

Teams will have to pay a 250 € Team Ticket (50 € per player) and for their own travel to Zurich on the required dates. Two-night accommodation (Hotel) for teams (5 players per team) will be provided by ESB (Friday & Saturday night).

F.A.Q

F.A.Q – Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I use a Mouse and Keyboard to compete?
    • No, as this is a PlayStation 4 event, only the controllers listed in the “Information” section may be used to compete in this event.
  • My team or one of my players live outside of Europe, can we not compete?
    • While we will be prioritizing European based teams for practical reasons, we will be reviewing these situations on a case by case basis due to possible travel visas required. Please contact “CodeName_Deus#0296” via private message on Discord for further information.
  • What about PC and Xbox?
    • This event is a first step for ESB and its partners to help kick off Battlefield Esports properly. Our goal will always be to host events on all platforms, and we hope to be able to replicate this kind of event in the future.
      • Please note: The more active a platform is in our online events, the easier creating events such as these ones is.

5v5 Domination Competitive Scrim – Battlefield V

5v5 Domination Competitive Scrim – Battlefield V

At the Battlefield V Launch Capture event in Stockholm, we were allowed to organize a 5v5 Domination scrim on Rotterdam with fellow EA GameChangers.

This allowed us to get an early first impression of what a smaller scale competitive match would play and feel like in Battlefield V. We hope this motivates teams and players and gives a different perspective on the game that hasn’t been shown thus far.

You can find the teams below (note that they where created randomly as players joined the server).

End of an Era Championship (PS4 5v5)

End of an Era Championship (PS4 5v5)

General Information

The End of an Era

Since 2013, Domination has been the go-to game mode for the competitive 5v5 Battlefield community. Over the years, hundreds of teams have played and competed in this game mode, however, with Incursion’s console release looming closer every day, domination’s demise seems inevitable. In order to celebrate this transition and as a way to finally put Battlefield 1 Domination behind us, we have decided to create this small event, both for bragging rights (for the winners) and as a way to have one last Battlefield 1 Domination event on PlayStation 4. It will also be a great way to start earning some ESB Points early ahead of Incursions.

This event will be open to teams from Europe, North America, and South America. It will feature 4 groups of teams attempting to earn a spot for the playoffs. There will be a total of 16 team slots open, however the groups will only feature teams from the same region, which essentially means that if your region is unable to fill at least 1 group (4 teams) then it won’t be allowed to participate in the event.

Please make sure you read and understand the schedule fully before signing your team up. For any questions don’t hesitate to message us on Discord via the link below.

ESB Points:

This event is classified as a Silver event, and teams will earn the following points based on their performances:

  • 2nd: 45
  • 3rd: 25
  • 4th: 20
  • 5th-8th: 10

Note: Rank points are assigned based on playoff placement, and not the group stages.

ESB League – BF1 Season 2 is here!

ESB League – BF1 Season 2 is here!

Information

After a successful first Battlefield 1 Season, and a nice summer break, ESB League is back! Season 2 will officially launch on October 16th, and for the first time ever we will be offering PC players a chance to compete in our league as well. Our League HUB (http://league.esport-battlefield.com/) will be updated in the coming weeks in order to get ready for Season 2.

To find out more about the PC Season, please visit:
https://esport-battlefield.com/incursions-comes-s2-2/

Sign-ups for the all the Qualifiers will go live on Thursday September 28th 2017. The links to all the tournaments will be posted both in this article, on Twitter and in our official Discord server.

This season will not be offering prizes. With Incursions now in Closed Alpha and the full release hopefully around the corner, our main objective is to build the communities on each platform as much as possible before Incursions will be available to everyone. Once that happens we will be redesigning our league a bit and we will start offering prizes as well. In any case, we hope teams and players will still be happy to see one of our most popular events come back!

Qualifiers:

There will be 2 Qualifiers for each category. The Qualifiers have a One Day Cup, single elimination format. Teams that don’t have a guaranteed spot from Season 1 (see the “Divisions” tab) and that wish to participate in Season 2 will be required to participate in both Qualifiers available for their category (no exceptions).

Each Qualifier you participate in, will earn you points that count towards acquiring a spot in our league depending on how well your team does in each Qualifier. After both Qualifiers are over, the final ranking will be published and the Top teams will earn their spot in a division of their respective Game mode/Format (i.e. 5v5 or 12v12). If there are enough teams competing in our Qualifiers, we will open extra Divisions where necessary.

  • 1st100pts
  • 2nd75pts
  • 3rd50pts
  • 4th35pts
  • 5th-8th20pts
  • 9th-16th10pts
  • 17th-32nd5pts

For Season 2 we will be featuring the following leagues on both X1 and PS4:

  • Battlefield 1 – 12v12 Conquest – PS4/X1
  • Battlefield 1 – 8V8 Frontlines – PS4/X1
  • Battlefield 1 – 5v5 Domination – PS4/X1

If enough teams would like other game modes and formats, we may be able to make those happen as well.

Note: The standard day for 12v12s will be scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays for 8v8s/5v5s. This means that players who play in a 5v5 team, won’t be able to play in an 8v8 team either due to scheduling conflicts.

League Schedules:

Note that ALL leagues (and respective divisions) feature 1 Match a Week only.

Qualifiers:

Note: The Qualifiers will run through Battlefy. Sign-ups are now open! Check the “Qualifiers” tab for the links.

Divisions

Please Note: If your Division is marked as Confirmed, this means your division will happen 100%. If your Division is marked as Not Confirmed, this means we would like to host it, however we are still working on making sure this Division will be ready to compete with 8 serious teams (this won’t apply until Qualifiers are over).
The teams already present below are teams who earned their position based on the final Season 1 standings after respective promotions/relegations where applied. These teams will have to confirm their participation during the qualification period or their spot will be given away.
