After 4 weeks of Test Cups across North America, South America, and Europe, it’s time to discuss, vote, and craft the first version of both the 4v4 Squad Rush and 8v8/12v12 Conquest Small rulesets. Hundreds of matches have been played, and we have received a lot of great feedback. It’s been incredible to see the community spring back to life again and be so excited for the future of competitive Battlefield once again.
For each mode, we will be discussing various topics:
- Weapons & Attachments
- Gadgets
- Vehicles & Vehicle Balance
- for Conquest Small, only of course
- Game Mode Settings
- Map Specific Feedback
Below you will find out more information about the ESB Council, what it is, when it is, and how to participate.
What is the Council?
The ESB Council is a periodic group voice meeting with active team leaders. Its purpose is to discuss and vote on significant changes to our rulesets, from crafting the first version of the rules to updating them with each major game update. Eligible teams may send one representative each, and established tournament organizers who would like to use ESB rulesets in their upcoming events can also sign up to participate in the conversations. Team eligibility is based on being active in our events, with the past 4 Test Cups granting eligibility for this first ESB Council.
Throughout these meetings, we introduce various topics and ensure they are addressed in depth and constructively with everyone involved. We want teams to make informed decisions when voting on rules that affect thousands of players. Once topics are discussed, all team leaders must complete a detailed questionnaire to cast their final votes and submit it before the meeting ends. After that, the results are generally published in an article on our website after a couple of days (example), and the changelog is updated on the respective ruleset page.
For this first Council, the results will be announced on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025, as we collect all the data and create the new ruleset pages accordingly.

How do you sign up?
Teams that played in at least 1 of the 2 Test Cups for their respective mode are considered eligible to participate in the Council. This means that over 70 teams are eligible to participate on Sunday!
Starting Friday, all eligible teams will have 1-2 of their representatives gain access to the ESB Council area of the EsportBF Discord. In this area, leaders can sign up by reacting to a post in the #council-announcements channel or request that another representative be given access instead via #council-replacements.
(If you haven’t received access because you left the EsportBF Discord, or if you believe we made a mistake, please let us know through our #general-assistance channel)
Tournament organizers who would like to use ESB rules for their upcoming events may also send a representative to participate in the conversation. Please get in touch with CodeName_Deus via DM on Discord for more information.
Note: This is a voice meeting; you will need a working microphone to attend.
