ESB League – BFV Pre-Season

ESB League – BFV Pre-Season

Information

Season 1 is expected to launch this fall (spoiler alert), and yet private servers are currently nowhere to be found. However, plenty of teams have started playing again since Squad Conquest has been added back to the game indefinitely, which prompts us to deliver a proper event for teams to compete in despite the current situation.

We are therefore opening up our Battlefield V league pre-season! The pre-season will work exactly like a normal season of ESB League, with a few small differences. Firstly, there are no qualifiers, meaning each division will be equal and generated based on a variety of factors. Secondly, teams will be earning ESB Points based on how they do in the pre-season, which will have an impact of qualifiers for Season 1. This means playing now will help you qualify for Season 1, and trust us, you will want to qualify for Season 1!

Our pre-season will be open to all platforms and for teams from Europe, North America, and South America. While we are aware not every platform/region combination will have enough teams, we are giving everyone an equal opportunity to participate and hopefully have their very own league.

Visit the “Schedule” tab to find out more and “Sign-up” to well, sign-up.

Regions:

For our Battlefield V pre-season, we will be featuring the following leagues on PS4, PC and X1.
  • Battlefield V – 8v8 Squad Conquest – PS4 EU & NA
  • Battlefield V – 8v8 Squad Conquest – PC EU & NA
  • Battlefield V – 8v8 Squad Conquest – X1 EU & NA
  • Battlefield V – 8v8 Squad Conquest – PS4 SA
  • Battlefield V – 8v8 Squad Conquest – PC SA

Note: Each league will require at least 8 teams to be confirmed. Multiple Divisions will be created if needed.

There will also be an ESB Council on Sunday, May 12th, prior to the league starting to finalize our current 8v8 Squad Conquest Ruleset. Only confirmed teams will be invited to participate.

ESB BFV Council #1 – 8v8 Squad Conquest Ruleset

ESB BFV Council #1 – 8v8 Squad Conquest Ruleset

General Information

Despite neither Rental Servers or Custom matches being available, we managed to get 30+ teams playing this past weekend in our Squad Conquest test cups on PlayStation 4. It was a great community effort and the events ran smoothly considering the circumstances.

The main test cup was split over two days. It featured no rules on Day 1 and some community suggested restrictions on Day 2. This was designed to test the various aspects of the game, and allow teams to create their own opinion on what does and doesn’t work in a competitive environment. The majority of teams played a total of 4 matches, allowing them to gain the required experience to provide meaningful feedback in this ESB Council.

In this ESB Council we will be officially discussing and voting on any weapon/grenade/gadget bans and any map restrictions that need to be put in place for the 8v8 scene. Once the voting will be over, we will be constructing a first version of our official 8v8 Squad Conquest Ruleset which will be used in our events starting next week.

When is the Council?

The meeting will be held on Sunday, February 3rd at 3pm EST / 9pm CET, and will last approximately 2 hours. Below is a countdown leading to the meeting start.

Location Local time Time zone UTC offset
Paris (France – Île-de-France) Sunday February 3rd 2019, 21.00.00 CET UTC+1 hour
New York (USA – New York) Sunday February 3rd 2019, 15.00.00 EST UTC-5 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Saturday February 3rd 2019, 20.00.00

How does my team attend?

This ESB Council is open to any team who played at least 2 matches in either our PS4 8v8 Squad Conquest Test Cup or South American Invitational which took place this past weekend. Each team will be allowed to send one representative to the Council, meaning 30 teams should be eligible to attend.

Established event organizers are also welcome to attend and join the conversation. Please contact @CodeName_Deus via twitter if you are interested in taking part.

The Council will take place on Discord (Download Link Here). You may join the server directly by clicking HERE.

Teams that wish to attend, please have your representative contact either CodeName_Deus (CodeName_Deus#0296) or Prince (LW__Prince#8658) directly in the ESB Discord to gain the “BFV Testing” role which gives access to the sign-up channel.

Sign-ups close 5 hours prior to the meeting start. (Teams who don’t sign-up will not be allowed to attend)

A reminder that team representatives represent their WHOLE team and not just themselves. We therefore ask representatives to discuss Council topics with their team mates before attending the Council.

As mentioned earlier, due to the official voting that will occur in this ESB Council, only teams who have played at least 2 matches in either our PS4 8v8 Squad Conquest Test Cup or South American Invitational will be allowed to attend.

ESB BF1 January / February Event Schedule

ESB BF1 January / February Event Schedule

ESB BF1 January / February Event Schedule

Over the next 4 weeks, we will be testing both the 3331 and 4+1 Rulesets for 5v5s with 2 Cups per week which will alternate between both rulesets before we vote on them in the 5th ESB Council. We will also be hosting 2 Conquest Cups to keep the community competing. That means we are hosting a total of 20 Cups across X1 and PS4 over the next 4 weeks!

We really hope that by the end of this tournament schedule, we will finally receive the February patch which will give us the power of proper server options in order to host bigger and better events…*Fingers Crossed*

ESB BF1 – Official 5v5 and 12v12 Rulesets v1.0

ESB BF1 – Official 5v5 and 12v12 Rulesets v1.0

ESB Battlefield 1 – Official 5v5 and 12v12 Rulesets v1.0

General Information

After 4 ESB Councils and discussing/voting on rules with over 30 competitive teams on both X1 and PS4, we are releasing the first versions of our 5v5 and 12v12 Rulesets. These rulesets aren’t final and will continue to be worked on in the future every few months depending on patches that are released and so forth.

There are currently 2 5v5 Rulesets, the 3331 & 1411. We will start testing out both rulesets in the coming weeks through One Day Cups and then vote on them in February in a 5th ESB Council in order to make a final decision with the community. The 3331 ruleset was proposed by us at ESB, while the 1411 was a proposition from the French PS4 community.

Unfortunately until we get more server options for private servers in Battlefield 1 we won’t be able to launch proper events such as leagues and prized cups, however, while teams wait, we hope these rules will prove useful for scrims and the smaller cups we will be hosting until then.

-If a team violates a GADGET, only the map the item was used on will be forfeited.
-If a team violates a WEAPONS restriction, a 25 Ticket Penalty per BANNED Weapon Kill will be applied.
-(This means that getting a kill with a – banned weapon doesn’t cost your team the map)
-Teams will be required to report and provide proof of any rule infraction(s) at the end of the map in which the infraction occurred. Failure to do so can possibly void any penalty for the opposing team.

ESB Battlefield 1 Council #4 – Creating the 5v5 Ruleset

General Information

The winter break is now over, and we’re ready to start launching Battlefield 1 events once again. Right before the break, and while a lot of key features/options where (and still are) missing, we managed to successfully run 3 5v5 Test Cups, 1 on Xbox One and 2 on PlayStation 4.

Each of the test cups had different variations in the rules, designed to test various aspects of the game. This allowed teams to see and feel how different rules and game modes played out and form their own opinion (especially the teams who played the 2 PS4  cups).

In this ESB Council we will be officially voting on any weapon/grenade/gadget bans and any map restrictions that need to be put in place for the 5v5 scene. Once the voting will be over, we will be constructing a first version of our official 5v5 ruleset which will be used in our events starting next week.

WHEN IS THE MEETING?

The meeting will be held on Saturday January 14th at 1pm EST / 7pm CET. Below is a countdown leading to the meeting start.

Location Local time Time zone UTC offset
Paris (France – Île-de-France) Saturday January 14th 2017, 19.00.00 CET UTC+1 hour
New York (USA – New York) Saturday January 14th 2017, 13.00.00 EST UTC-5 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Saturday January 14th 2017, 18.00.00

HOW DOES MY TEAM ATTEND?

This ESB Council is open to all competitive Xbox One and PlayStation 4 teams that have played in at least 1 of our 3 5v5 Test Cups on Battlefield 1. Each Team will be allowed 1 to send one fix representative to each council. This means 30+ teams are eligible to attend.

Established event organizers are also welcome to attend to join in on the conversation. Please contact @CodeName_Deus on twitter if you are interested in taking part.

The ESB Councils now happen over Discord (Download Link Here). You may join the server directly by clicking HERE.

Every team who wishes to attend must fill in and submit the form below. A confirmation email will be sent to you within 12 hours of signing-up. Sign-ups close 4 hours prior to the meeting start. (Teams who don’t sign-up will not be allowed to attend)

Please make sure that your name on Discord matches your provided Battlelog/PSN/XBL name when you join our server or you will not be moved to the correct channel for the meeting.

For this meeting 30 slots will be available for teams (15 for X1 and 15 for PS4), and we will give teams who have actively competed in our past events priority over completely new ones. Confirmation emails will be sent to each team applying once they are confirmed.

Sign-up Form

A reminder that team representatives represent their WHOLE team and not just themselves. We therefore ask representatives to discuss the council topics with their team mates before attending the council.

Due to the official voting that will occur in this ESB Council, as mentioned earlier, only teams who have participated in at least 1 of our BF1 5v5 Test Cups will be allowed to attend.
