Battlefield 2042 – 4v4 ESB Flashpoint

ESB rules are developed together with some of the top Battlefield teams that are active in our events. With Battlefield 2042 changing regularly, we’ll make sure to keep our rules updated regularly to reflect any changes.

IMPORTANT: Please note that this ruleset is still work-in-progress. There will likely be changes to it over the coming months as we start testing it on a larger scale. Don’t forget to provide your feedback through our Discord and to check the changelog regularly to see what has changed.

CHANGELOG:

Version 1.13 – 15/06/2023

New Flashpoint Codes:

  • All previous experience codes have been replaced with new ones. Please make sure you are using the updated ones as the old ones don’t currently work.
    • A reminder you can find the codes HERE.

Kaleidoscope Spawn Rework:

  • We have improved the Kaleidoscope spawn system and fixed the waterside spawn issue. This should significantly improve the map’s playability.

Manifest Points Fix:

  • Manifest Flashpoints 2 and 5 had flipped over in-game. This has now been fixed. We have also swapped their names around so that they make more sense. Manifest Flashpoint 2 is now “Radar Fortifications”, and 5 is “Destroyed Radar”.
    • A reminder that you can find the map overview and point rotations HERE.

Caspian Border Fixed:

  • One of the recent updates had broken the map. It is now working as intended again.

Thermal Scope Rule Change:

  • Thermal Scopes have now been added to Portal and can’t be equipped in the experiences anymore. Section 1.6 of the rules has been modified to reflect these changes.
    • Previously, Thermal Scopes couldn’t be banned in Portal, and there was a penalty system in place for when players used them.

New Season 5 Weapons & Grenade bans:

  • All Season 5 Battle Pass Weapons & Grenades have received a temporary ban until further notice. This has been done to make sure the playing field is level and that players aren’t forced to grind through the Battle Pass to use certain items.
    • New Banned Weapons: XCE BAR (Bolt Action), GEW-46 (AR) & BFP.50 (Pistol).
    • New Banned Grenades: Spring Grenade, Anti-Tank Grenade, & Mini Grenade.
      • Please note that the new RPG-7V2 can be unlocked through in-game challenges and is, therefore, not banned.

Version 1.12 – 10/03/2023

New Map:

  • Flashpoint has now been added to the map pool. You can find the map overview and point rotations HERE.
    • Remember that this is the first iteration of the points and the rotation, so please send us your feedback on Discord.

Kaleidoscope Rework:

  • “Servers” has been removed from the rotation, and “Ammo Depot” has switched locations. Together with a complete rotation rework, we believe the map now plays a lot better, with reduced verticality.
    • Note: We are still working on the spawn issue fix. We hope to have this ready by next week.

Version 1.11 – 03/03/2023

Restricted Specialist:

  • Camila Blasco has been temporarily banned because her X6-Infiltration Device can’t currently be disabled in Portal. Once the Portal editor is updated, the X6 will be banned and she will be added to the pool of active operators.

Banned Weapons:

  • The SFAR-M GL is now banned. We feel like this gun is currently too good compared to the other Assault Rifles and that banning it will also open up the AR meta.
  • The RPT-31 LMG (LMG), Super 500 Shotgun (Shotgun), SVD (DMR), and Type 88 LMG (LMG) are now banned.
    • These weapons fit into previously banned weapon categories and have been automatically banned.
  • The AC9 SMG has been banned primarily due to its 1080 ROF. Being a close cousin to the already banned K30, this was an instant ban as well.
  • The RM68 Assault Rifle is temporarily banned until Season 5 arrives. We feel that the current Rank 40 unlock requirement in the new Battle Pass is too high.

Banned Gadgets:

  • Irish’s DC-2 DEPLOYABLE COVER has been banned.
  • The new SPH Explosive Launcher introduced with Season 4 has been banned as well.

Banned Attachments:

  • The thermal scopes are now banned. Unfortunately they still don’t appear in the portal editor and can still be equipped by players. We have therefore updated Section 1.6 of the ruleset by adding penalties for using these items in a match.
    • TR-1 Thermal 1.25x
    • T4 Thermal 2.5x
    • 2038 Thermal 6x

Version 1.10 – 06/02/2023

Class Restrictions Added:

  • Teams may not use more than two specialists of the same class at any given moment.
  • Penalties for breaking the class restriction rules have also been added to Section 1.6 of the ruleset.

Unrestricted Specialists:

  • Mackay and Boris are now playable. Their specialist gadgets remain banned, however.
    • This should add more variety to both the Assault and Engineer classes.
  • Also updated the specialist overview image to reflect the above changes and sorted the specialists by their new classes to help teams identify them.

Banned Weapons:

  • The PP-29 (SMG) is now banned.
  • The PKP-BP is now banned, making all LMGs banned.

Banned Attachments:

  • The G57 Close Combat Extended Mag is now banned in an effort to balance out sidearms.

Banned Gadgets:

  • Both the Medical and Ammo Crates are now banned to balance out the support specialists and emphasize their individual abilities more. (aka Falck2strong)
  • The Smoke Grenade Launcher is now banned to help reduce smoke spam. Everyone can still use Smoke Grenades, but we hope this helps.
  • The new gadgets added in Update 3.2 have all been banned:
    • T-UGS
    • Tracer Dart Gun
    • EOD Bot
    • M18 Claymore
    • FGM-148 Javelin

Added a Known Glitch to the list:

  • A new glitch with Angel’s Loadout Crate has been added together with video explanation. Please make sure you don’t use this in any matches.

New 4v4 Experience Codes incoming:

  • Expect more join codes to be added to the ruleset over the next 24 hours. These join codes should help teams scrim and play in the upcoming test cup this weekend.

Version 1.01 – 27/01/2023
Exposure Hotfix:
  • Fixed an issue on Green Containers (Flashpoint #4) that made it impossible to cap the point.
Dozer’s Shield is now banned.
  • Dozer’s SOB-8 BALLISTIC SHIELD has been added to the list of banned gadgets and will not be available anymore.

1.3 RESTRICTED ITEMS:

  • None

1.4 GLITCHES:

We ask teams to refrain from abusing known glitches to get an advantage in matches.

Known Glitches:

Due to the different nature of other glitches not listed above, each case will be reviewed individually.

1.5 ROOFS & AREAS:

If a player enters a banned roof or area, the game will kill the player and display a message to ‘stay inside the play area’.

Note: You can also see a visual representation of the banned areas by clicking HERE.

1.6 RESTRICTION PENALTIES:

  • If a team violates a Known Glitches restriction, they forfeit the map in which the infraction occurred.
  • If a team violates a CLASS RESTRICTION, a 20 point will be applied for every 10 seconds in which the violation occurs.
    • This means that accidentally spawning with an extra class doesn’t cost your team the game as long as you redeploy right away.
    • Accumulating three (3) CLASS Restriction violations within the same map will cause a map forfeit for the team in violation.
    • Video proof is required for each incident.
      • Videos must be at least 10 seconds long and must show the scoreboard for the duration of the infraction.
  • Teams are required to report and provide proof of any rule infraction(s) at the end of the map in which the infraction occurred. Failure to do so can possibly void any penalty for the opposing team.

Note #1: There are no listed penalties for the items listed in Section 1.2 because these items are already banned inside the game in each Portal experience we created and, therefore, can’t be equipped/used.
Note #2: There are also no penalties for getting on banned roofs and areas because the game will automatically kill the player if they enter one of those areas.

3.0 Server Settings

3.1 SERVER HOSTING:

The player (and their squad) that creates the server will always be placed on the US team.

Please join the server as a squad, so it puts you all on the same team without any issues. Joining individually will assign players in an ABABABAB order and isn’t practical.

The RESTART MAP and NEXT MAP features now work properly in Portal, please use them.

3.2 SERVER OVERVIEW:

Every server MUST be password protected. We recommend that teams change their server password before every match to avoid people keeping track of old passwords and joining as possible players.

To access Experience Hosting, press: Play > Battlefield Portal > Host > Experience Code

The game will then ask you to provide:

Server Details:

  • Name: ESB Match
  • Description: –

Server Settings:

  • Welcome Message: –
  • Password: ON

Once you are done entering the above information, press “Host Server.”

Note: The server region is based on the location of the player hosting the server. When server quotas are full in a specific region, it will host the server in another region.

3.5 AIM ASSIST OPTIONS

In Battlefield 2042, there are 2 Aim Assist options in the game:

  • Aim Assist (former Slow-Down):
    • Controls whether Aim Assist is allowed for players using the Aim Assist option. When this is set to OFF, the crosshair will not adjust its speed when tracking over an enemy player.
  • Aim Assist Zoom Snap (former Auto-Rotation):
    • Controls whether Snap-to-target is used for Aim Assisted players. When this is set to OFF, the crosshair will not snap to a nearby target when entering ADS.

For all of our events, and in all our experience codes, the Aim Assist option is turned ON and the Aim Assist Zoom Snap is turned OFF.
